This is my current favorite song…it’s by Point of Grace and I love the chorus..

God loves people more than anything

God loves people more than anything

more than anything He wants them to know

He’d rather die than let them go

God loves people more than anything

It’s so true..and so often, we don’t mirror this aspect of God.

Have you ever stood back and looked around at all the holiday bustle and business December brings? Have you ever looked beyond the anticipation of Christmas day to the bigger meaning of December? In just a few weeks the greatest birth that ever took place is going to be celebrated! Just think, if Christmas had never happened, we would be wretched sinners headed for hell with no hope of heaven. But our merciful, loving God decided to rescue us in our sad, desperate state and sent His only son to die for us. How would you like it if tomorrow your dad told you, Son (or daughter), your purpose on life is to die. I know I wouldn’t be all too happy, and I wouldn’t act like Jesus did. The decorations are great, the food is always delicious, opening presents is always fun, but there is something so much greater. There is a birthday that should be celebrated first, and a savior who should be worshipped above all.

So, amidst all the fun and excitement of Christmas, don’t forget the real reason of the season. Don’t let your heart become hardened to the greatest message of all time. Although this Christmas I know I am going to heaven, there are far more people who will spend this Christmas headed on a path to burn in hell.

    Just something to think about…

    Two hour delays..why?

    Two hour delays..why?

There are certain occasions that call for a blog and this morning was one. I stayed up till around midnight last night working on homework. I then was supposed to get up and be at school at 7:15 to tutor, which meant I had to get up around 5:30. My dad came in to wake me up, and told me there was snow all over the ground. My first thought was two-hour delay yes!! But then I quickly remembered our school never has two-hour delays..why should today be different? Even when it was like -20 degrees outside and every other school in the state had a two hour delay, we still had to get up and stand outside to greet..so, I was pretty sure we wouldn’t have one. None of the other schools around here have one, and I watched the news for awhile. I got up and got all ready to go..I have a basketball game tonight, so I had to wear my cheerleading uniform and put my hair up. (It actually looked ok today..) I ate breakfast, and was about to walk out the door when my dad comes in and says we’re on a two-hour delay and that we are the only school. First of all, that is strange and second of all, I gave up valuable sleep time for no reason:) I was so mad..I wanted to sleep in so bad, but I had promised someone I would help them, and I knew I had to get up..so now, I’m sitting here, dressed, all ready to go and I have two hours..if my hair wasn’t up, I might actually have been able to sleep..but since it is I have to sit and stare wistfully at my soft, warm bed. I’m glad though because now I can finish up my homework..

If only they cancel school…ya right:)

    My Speech

    My Speech..

I got an e-mail from a friend I met while at camp this summer, and she asked what God had been teaching me lately.. It got me thinking, and I realized that He has been teaching me so much. So, I thought I would share one thing with you. What I talk about..lately, it seems like that’s the message God has wanted to pound into my head. I have been caught several times talking about someone, and having them walk up at precisely the right moment-talk about embarrassing. I am also going through the book-Lord, change my attitude before it’s too late..and I finished up the first chapter on complaining a few weeks ago, and I realized how much I complain..about everything. God has showed me lately how, by my talking about someone, not only is it sin, but it changes the view the other person has towards that person. And although I am far from perfect, and I am working hard at being an example by my speech as Timothy said. We are currently having virtuous woman chapels at school, and they have been really convicting. As I have thought about some of the things I talk about, they are far from what a virtuous woman would talk about.

Proverbs 10:11 “The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.”

    Ice Skating

I’m back..last night some people from my youth group and some people from Rossiville went ice skating. I had so much fun! I can’t remember the last time I blew my list of stuff I needed to do and went to hang out with people. I made some new friends and had fun with my old ones. I have decided I’m a really stinky skater..although I never fell and figured out how to turn in a circle! I was proud! but again..homework!

    It’s official..

    It’s official..

I’m addicted..here I sit writing away in my blog while my trig needs done, my micro report needs written, and my body needs sleeping. Mr.Harmless I have to thank and myself to blame for not focusing. But oh well..at least I’m only addicted to blogging and not to something that’s actually harmful. And since very few others keep up with their blogging, I must provide something new to read for those few that read my blog. so since I’ve posted 3 times today and I really do have much homework and have already make a fool of myself once tonight-I’m going to go.

    I’m out..

    My Greatest Fear

    My Greatest Fear

Well, I have already written about my biggest fear, but I suppose there could be a slight difference between biggest and greatest..let me know if you come up with one! Anyways, right now I think my greatest fear is something happening to one of my parents. I honestly can not imagine life without one or both of them. My mom is the ever-caring, emtional, always happy, and always ready to give up anything for me. My dad is the balancer, the shoulder to cry on, the protector of his baby girl, and the one I can always count on to take me to the movies. I know God would give me the grace to go on, but it would be very difficult. I can’t think about not having my dad to give me away at my wedding, or having my mom around when I have kids(in many many years). I am so thankful that God has placed me in the family he has placed me in and has so far allowed my parents to stay healthy and safe! So, that is my greatest fear, and I know that God has them in His hand and is watching over them.

    How I show I’m thankful..(English)

    How I show I’m thankful..(English)

Mrs. Wiebe had as our blog topic for the week how do you show your thankful. It really got me thinking, do I show that I’m thankful. I mean, yeah at this time of year I can list off the many things I’m thankful for..the common expected answers-school, church, family, friends..but do I actually show I am thankful. And how could I show that. I kept thinking about that, and some convicting thoughts came across my mind. Do I show my teachers I am thankful for them when I keep talking in class after being told not to, or when I don’t turn in my homework, or when I don’t try my best..no, of course not, but yet that’s what I do..and then when Thanksgiving rolls around I say, “oh yeah, I’m thankful for my teachers” And how about my family..do I show them I am thankful for them..when I yell at my brother, or refuse to help out at home because I’m too busy. Or when I get mad at my parents..does that show how thankful I am for them? obviously, it does not. and my friends, am I showing my thankfulness towards them when I gossip, or leave them out. When I just always talk about me, or about my problems. And my relationship with God..it’s easy to say I’m thankful for that, but how often to I tell God I am thankful for it. and how often do I spend a meaningful amount of time in prayer and bible reading. Thanksgiving comes one scheduled day a year, but being thankful is a principle in God’s word that should be a part of our daily lives. I think I could use a lot of work on this area, I’ve got the saying I’m thankful done..but now I need the actions that back it up. In every pat Christian answer, I need to be able to say..yeah, I’m thankful for my teachers and I pay attention in class and listen to them and do my best..because that shows them I am truly thankful. I could go on and re-list all the areas I talked about, but I think you get my point. So, I hope you will work at showing your thankful by your actions, and I can tell you I certainly am..perhaps next year, I will be able to say that I show I am thankful by this this and this..but for now, sadly, I can only say I need to work on it.
