The Power of Prayer
Tweet In Sunday school this morning, one of my friends’ older brother came and gave a testimony to us. And it really hit me, He was one of those headed-down-the-wrong path teens, and decided to join the Marines. Little did He know the path his life would take. Last January he was sent over to Iraq. From then until September, he was over there fighting for our freedom. And He came home safely and with an new outlook on life. It was awesome to see how our prayers paid off. and on a little lighter note… Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over, but expecting the same result

My Happiest Childhood Memory (English thing)
Tweet My Happiest Childhood Memory (English thing) I don’t have one specific memory, but I do have memories that I will never forget. Probably my two happiest memories are barbies and ballet. My best friend Megan and I would play barbies for hours. We built houses and lives for them, marrying them off and planning different events for them. Summer pool parties, dances(I was little), and many other things. I know, most of you never experienced this joy, but it was was of my favorite things to do. I finally broke the habit in 6th grade, although there are times I still contemplate getting them all out. My second favorite…

My Imaginary Friend
Tweet Ok, I’ve lost this dumb post twice and I’m mad. It was really good and really close to 100 words and now I have to start over. I have no idea what to say, I never had an imaginary friend that I named. See I always had lots of imaginary friends. I talked to them and told them all about whatever was bothering me. One day my mom walked out and said, “Amanda who are you talking to?” Well, embarassed, I said no one and lowered my voice. I always liked having imaginary friends. They never told your secrets and never had anything bad to say. They would listen…

It’s the Little Things…
Tweet God has taught me so much lately about this topic. He’s helped me to realize all the little things He brings into my life as sources of encouragement. So many times, people will go out of their way to say hi or write me a little note and it makes my whole day. Or I’ll come home and there will be a letter or e-mail from one of my CIT buds, and it will be the biggest encouragement. Just this morning, one of my dear friends brought me cookies and a note. It was one of the nicest things that could have happened, but it wasn’t a huge drawn…

Kids!
Tweet I’m babysitting Mr. Harmless’ kids and thought I’d add something new to my blog. Kids are funny things you know, they have such an innocence and spirit about them. Take kindergarteners for instance, I eat lunch with them some days and they are so funny. Today I was trying to learn Chinese from one of them, and she kept laughing at me because I was saying the words wrong. Yet she can speak it fluently. They often remind of the simpleness of life, and how often I run around to busy to notice the little things. They are always so interested in you too, they always want to talk…
