My Happiest Childhood Memory (English thing)

My Happiest Childhood Memory (English thing)

I don’t have one specific memory, but I do have memories that I will never forget. Probably my two happiest memories are barbies and ballet. My best friend Megan and I would play barbies for hours. We built houses and lives for them, marrying them off and planning different events for them. Summer pool parties, dances(I was little), and many other things. I know, most of you never experienced this joy, but it was was of my favorite things to do. I finally broke the habit in 6th grade, although there are times I still contemplate getting them all out.

My second favorite childhood memory was ballet. I started in kindergarten with my best friend, Kim. Although she quit the next year, I stuck with it. I had found my love. So while all my other friends were playing soccer and basketball, I was leaping across the room and practicing my pirouettes. I made so many friends, and so many memories. Finally, I was on pointe, which is very hard for those of you who know absolutely nothing about ballet. It was one of those growing up experiences. However, my love for ballet had to end when we moved and it was a sad sad day. Although, I still dance around my room sometimes..remembering all those times.

    Friday night laughs:)

    Friday night laughs:)

Friends are awesome..they are always there to make you laugh or encourage you. I have so many awesome friends, and periodically we like to get together and hang out. This usually brings out many sides of people you didn’t know existed. Such as Jon’s burping..well, I suppose we could have figured that one out.. and his great effort to tip the pizza delivery girl. and micah’s tips on how to burp..I don’t think flapping like a bird really works. Or take Adam for example, he’s always throwing in surprises. (no more needs to be said) And I don’t think anyone will forget Kelly’s “Is He Hot?” I love ya girl! And you can’t forget the couples..

But friends are great things, and the memories we make with them will last forever. Thanks guys..you all rock!

    The Room Suddenly Became Quiet

    The Room Suddenly Became Quiet

The room suddenly became quiet as Mr.Grass came over the loudspeaker saying he had a very important annoucement. Usually Mr.Grass’ important annoucements were about people he needed to see or something we needed to improve on, however this day was different. The tone in his voice was different, more concerned and shaky. There was something terribly wrong. As he started, he explained that one of the twin towers had been hit by a plane. Our biology class was silent. A very rare thing in my class, but that day you could have heard a pin drop. He continued telling us the events that had thus far transpired, as of about 9:00. The mood was suddenly different, everyone was quiet. Mr.Grass asked us to take a moment to pray for our nation and those who had already lost their lives. As we tried to continue throughout our normal class, everyone was a bit more solemn. In algebra 2, Mr.Harmless told us the other tower had been hit and the pentagon. By the end, both towers had collasped. I think that was probably one of the very few times my class actually got dead quiet, but I think we all realized the seriousness of this event. As the events continued to unfold, they seemed to be awful. Who would want to do this against our nation? President Bush came on tv that night, and the entire congress was silent, as probably the rest of the people watching him. God has blessed our nation, and we must continue to pray for those who lost loved ones on that day.

Well, it’s Thursday again. My favorite night of the week..:) And although you all think I’m crazy for loving survivor, I’m going to keep you updated anyways. The two tribes this go around are Drake and Morgan. Tonight Drake came out on top-winning both the reward and immunity challenges. So Morgan went off to Tribal Council again and voted off Skinny Ryan. 2 survivors gone, 14 more to go. So far Morgan has lost every challenge. My Imaginary Friend

Ok, I’ve lost this dumb post twice and I’m mad. It was really good and really close to 100 words and now I have to start over. I have no idea what to say, I never had an imaginary friend that I named. See I always had lots of imaginary friends. I talked to them and told them all about whatever was bothering me. One day my mom walked out and said, “Amanda who are you talking to?” Well, embarassed, I said no one and lowered my voice. I always liked having imaginary friends. They never told your secrets and never had anything bad to say. They would listen to all my bad days and good days. And they don’t think your jokes are corny or that you are silly. I still talk to them sometimes, Especially if I’ve had a really bad day or someone is really buggin me. They don’t know the person nor will they ever tell them what I say. If you have ever had an imaginary friend then you know what I’m talking about, and if you haven’t then you are missing out.

    CIT

Well, it’s storming really hard outside and the rain reminded me of camp this summer. I was at the Wilds for two weeks in their CIT program, and it was a blast. I made so many awesome friends and have so many memories. Such as many, many meals in the pouring rain. And can anyone say freaky aliens hiding in the woods. I don’t think I have ever been more scared in my life. But with all the fun times, came many many times for spiritual growth and challenge. God did so much in my life during those two weeks..I can truly say they were life-changing. Not only did He show me so many areas of my life that needed change, He gave and has given me many many opportunities to change those areas. I had two amazing counselors who will forever be etched in my mind, and made decisions I have stuck to. I could go on and on forever, but most of the stuff would only be meaningful to me and those from CIT. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to go. And rain is a wonderful thing..

    HEY HEY HEY C-C-C-CIT

CIT’s the Best so let is RAIN!!:)

  • Conquering Fears

    My Greatest Fear

Well, Our topic today is our greatest fear. And I can’t really think of my greatest fear. One that is high on my list is being kidnapped by some weird guy. (I’ll let you ponder what else could happen) I guess I have watched too many shows about that. Who knows, although not very many people my age seem to get kidnapped. I also have a great fear of heights. For some odd reason, this has plagued me for many years. And it comes up at the oddest times. Like the one time a few of my fellow classmates thought it would be funny to push Amanda around the gym on the scaffolding. I was so scared. I guess I don’t really have that many fears..nothing that hinders my day to day living at least. I figure there are always going to be things in life I’m afraid of, but you just got to look them in the face and conquer them. I was scared of water for so long..which is really funny because I love to swim now, but it wasn’t until I decided I wanted to swim and be a lifeguard that I got obver that fear. Although I’m still a bit wary about swimming in the ocean. Let’s see, I don’t think I have any other fears. It’s weird, my mom has always been very careful about what I watch and both my parents have tried to raise me without fear. So although I have my fears, nothing so great that is hinders my daily life. Anyways, the bell just rang.

    Some Day

You ever have one of those days that wasn’t really bad, but wasn’t really good? The kind you look back over and think, man, I blew that test or I have so much homework. You can’t really seem to recall much good in them, however sometimes you just have to search a little harder. I was sitting here tonight dwelling on what in my mind was a bad day, and all of a sudden I remembered what a fun cross country practice we had. And how most of teachers seemed to be in good moods today. And the many good conversations and laughs I had with my friends. In Spanish today we talked about the things we were thankful for, and I realized how much I have to be thankful for and how many ways God has blessed me. And although there were those dark spots in my day, I realized the bright ones outweighed them. And plus..The Pottery Club is going to have an awesome float:) (That’s for Rachel)

God’s mercies are new every day and His faithfulness endures all generations.

    How Awesome is that!!

    Here’s one more..

David’s friends gave him a very nasty parrot. He tried to change the bird’s bad behavior by treating it kindly, even playing soft music, but it kept cursing and biting. One day, in a fit of anger, he threw the bird in the freezer. At first is squawked and banged on the door. Then after a brief silence, it begged to be freed. Feeling guilty, David opened the freezer. Shivering, the parrot said, “I’m sorry. I promise to behave.” David was wondering the reason for this sudden transformation when the parrot continued, “I gotta ask you one things: What did the chicken do?”
